About
Douglas Park Lawlor is a visual artist working as a short film director with a focus on dream imagery. Following the long exhale when each film project is finished he switches his focus to illustration. Through illustration, he explores dream concepts often as abstraction using deep texture, light, and space. Each medium continues the pursuit and need to present a rich atmosphere; environmental weather, light/shadow, and ambiance. It is in these that Douglas's voice can be recognized.
Douglas was raised in Baltimore, MD, and received a BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA in 2010. Shortly after he traveled abroad to live in Indonesia and Australia where he focused on street painting and his short film Midnight Ticket. He is currently freelancing as a Creative Director and Photographer in Oakland, California.
